Afro American New York Life and History

An Interdisciplinary Journal

MISSION / PURPOSE                            

Afro-Americans in New York Life and History is an interdisciplinary journal that is published two times per year (January and July) by the Afro-American Historical Association of the Niagara Frontier, Inc. The journal began publication in 1977. Through the journal, the Association will endeavor to encourage and publish research and scholarship pertaining to Afro-Americans in New York State . The journal will publish analytical, historical, and descriptive articles dealing with the life and history of Afro-Americans in New York State . We will also publish articles on race relations and racial attitudes. In addition, the journal will carry articles dealing with methodology and trends in local and regional Afro-American studies. Moreover, we will attempt to aid the researcher by identifying and publicizing information concerning the location of archival sources and research materials pertaining to Afro-Americans in New York.

The journal will publish book reviews pertaining to the life and history of people of African descent in the United States or elsewhere.

 

HOW TO SUBMIT ARTICLES FOR PUBLICATION

Persons who wish to submit articles for consider for publication should observe the following:

 

(1). Submit two hard copies of the article, plus a copy of the computer disk file.

 

(2). Footnotes, consecutively numbered, should appear at the end of the article.

 

(3). Persons submitting articles should allow 6 weeks for review and reply.
